Leadership Conference

It was cold and wet, but the day went well. On Saturday, October 24, 1998, the Interact Fall Leadership Conference took place. This year it was held at Live Oak High School, Morgan Hill, from 8:30am to 2:30pm. Rotary International District 5170 (that is what we are a part of) came together and represented INTERACT CLUB!
This year we unfortunately did not have that many members attend. For those who did attend. it was quite an experience. The introduction of our district officers was very well done. After the introductions was the meeting of each area. Our Area 6 met to discuss up coming area projects that we can work together.
The main leadership sessions began after that. Presidents/Vice-Presidents met together, Secretaries, Treasurers, Member/Potential Officers, and new memebers all met seperately. During this time, eash session was instructed by an Interact Alumni, and a couple distict officers.
Soon after lunch came, supplying everyone with a bag lunch. A guest deejay even
attended to keep the fellow interaters entertained. The last session was the presentation of projects from each of out main focuses: community, school, fund raising, internationl, and environmental. This was followed by the final wrap-up.
All in all, the conference was great. Everyone received much input, as well as give some of thier own. I really encourage more of our members to attend this next year. It is a great conference for potential officers and leaders. You will receive a lot of good information, and meet a lot of new people who are interested in the same things.
