Trick-or-Treat For Cans

Two weeks before Halloween, various dedicated members helped pass out flyers to the community neighborhoods. The flyers asked for canned goods donations for the needy. Despite having to walk from house to house, many members distributed the flyers with positive attitudes. Thanks to those Interact members, Interact was able to collect over 400 canned goods and non-perishable items. There were over 50 houses that responded to the flyers and generously donated their goods. There were some members that went beyond the call of duty and went from house to house and personally asked for canned good donations. To those members, Interact Club would like to thank you for committing to the “Service above Self” motto we advocate. All of the collected goods will be donated to the Emergency Housing Consortium. From there, the shelter will give the goods to the needy during the Homeless Awareness Week, which runs from November 16 to 22. PHHS Interact Club donates the canned goods in hopes of raising awareness of the less fortunate among our members as well as our community.
